Cuchara Mountain Park is seeking a reliable, versatile, and self-motivated Maintenance Personnel team member to help maintain, repair, and enhance our park facilities, outdoor spaces, and equipment. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving practical problems, and keeping operations running smoothly in a mountain environment, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on park infrastructure, structures, and utility systems.
Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate and perform basic checks on heavy machinery and utility vehicles used for grounds keeping and terrain management.
Grounds & Outdoor Upkeep: Perform essential outdoor tasks in varying mountain weather conditions, ensuring trails, structures, and public areas remain safe and operational.
Tool & Hardware Usage: Utilize hand and power tools safely to build, fix, and maintain park assets.
Basic Plumbing: Perform routine plumbing troubleshooting, minor repairs, and winterization/de-winterization of park facilities.
General Handyman Tasks: Handle day-to-day general repairs, physical maintenance, and quick-fix operational tasks as needed across the park.
Qualifications & Requirements
Mechanical Knowledge: Hands-on understanding of basic engine, mechanical, and equipment operations.
Heavy Equipment Experience: Demonstrated ability or willingness to safely operate heavy machinery and equipment.
Power & Hand Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the safe use of common trade power tools and manual hardware tools.
Basic Plumbing Skills: Familiarity with basic pipe repair, fixture maintenance, and general plumbing concepts.
Outdoor Physical Stamina: Ability and willingness to work outdoors across all seasons and varying weather conditions.
Self-Motivated Work Ethic: Strong initiative to work independently with minimal supervision, manage tasks efficiently, and take ownership of projects.
Handyman Versatility: A practical problem-solver with a broad skill set across general maintenance trades.
