Welcome to a fantastic winter season at Cuchara Mountain Park! We invite everyone to enjoy the snow, but to ensure the safety of all guests and park users, all sledding and snow play activities MUST be restricted to the designated Snow Play Area ONLY - Sledding is strictly prohibited on all ski runs at all times. (please refer to the map below - Snow Play area in Green).

All participants MUST AGREE to our Snow Play Area Policy! You can do so by selecting one of the options Waiver or Donate to "purchase". 

Cuchara Mountain Park Snow Play Rules

Ready for some safe, snowy fun? To access CMP’s official designated sledding and snow play zone, you must complete our free, one-time registration for the winter season. Every person planning to use the Cuchara winter activities area, including supervising adults, must register prior to play.

For everyone’s safety, sledding and snow tubing on Cuchara Mountain Park's ski trails is absolutely prohibited. Registered guests may only enjoy sledding within the designated snow play area located to the north of the park (see map).

Snow Play Area Policy for Safe Sledding

Enjoy the Cuchara Mountain Park sledding area by following these simple rules:

• Stay within the Designated Sledding Zone. Do not sled outside this area.

• BYOS (Bring Your Own Sled): Only plastic sleds are permitted. Skis and snowboards are not allowed.

• Hours of Operation: The Snow Play Zone opens daily at 9:00 am and closes at sunset.

• Family Snow Fun Cuchara: The area is open to families and all ages!

• Adult Supervision: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

• Recommended Fun: Smiles, giggling, building awesome snowmen, and snow sculptures!

• Prohibited Items: No alcohol or glass is allowed.

• Conduct: No rough play allowed.

• Recommended Attire: Proper footwear and layered clothing are recommended—it’s cold out there!

• Use at Your Own Risk: This designated sledding zone is not monitored or patrolled. Users are solely responsible for judging snow conditions and the safety of the area.

• Pets: For their safety, dogs must be on a leash and kept out of the immediate play area.

• Emergencies: In case of emergency, please call 911 immediately.

Caution: Snow play area use can be hazardous. Risks include, but are not limited to, collisions and variable surfaces (snow, packed snow, ice).
